May 12, 2016 - Day 3 to CA

Holy Cow!! What a gorgeous day. We woke up to the sun shining and 40 degrees.  Sun stayed around all day long.  Here we are getting ready.

On the Run, we will be riding side by side.  Ken and Larry practiced a bit today to get used to it

This is Jenny following.

More wind farms and saw another crop dusting plane.

As  you see still VERY flat.

We crossed into Colorado.  Then we saw snow.  Check in the distance.

 Heading into Denver

We stopped in Denver to meet up with Jenny's Aunt Barb and Uncle Charles.  What a great time with some great people.  Thanks for lunch.
The rest of the day was just beautiful.  You will see lots of pictures on our way to Grand Junction.

Those of you that are watching this that I have skied with, we road past Loveland Pass, Breckenridge, and Vail ski resorts.  Still lots of snow on the slopes.  Temperatures were between 40 and 51.

Not sure what he was going to do with this but at least it was not thrown at me.

Anthony this is for you.  Looks like a good pic for an advertisement.

Elevation was a little over 11,000.

As we start to head, if you look close there is a golf course along the base of the mountain.  Long, narrow fairways.  One side is the mountain, other side is the Colorado River.

More pictures on the way to California.  What beautiful sites.  Hope you enjoy.

The river in the next several pictures is the Colorado River

Take a look at the next several picture.  The one lane coming at us is at a lower level.  It is like this for several miles as it runs along the river.

As we pull into a gas stop, this catches my eye.  Beautiful site.

Few more pics before we get to Grand Junction our destination for the night.

Before going to the hotel, Ken and Jenny suggested going to Colorado National Monument.  What a great suggestion.  Hope you like the pics.

Summary of the day.  We traveled I70 all day.  Took a slight change to see Uncle Charles and Aunt Barb.  We went SR86 to SR83.  Then back on I 70.
Temps started at 40 degrees and we ended the day about 72.
Elevation : started about 3600 , to 11,000 then ended at 4600 feet.
We traveled 505 miles.
