Aug 29, 2020 - National Park Ride -Loveland, OH to Des Moine, IA

 Hi All,

Welcome to our trip out West.  We started the day with temp at 71.  NICE.  Here will be our crew :   Ron, Courtney, Larry and Jean.

Oh yeah,  I forgot to mention Jerry is our mascot.

This is the sky almost all day long.

We also saw acres and acres of corn!!!!

And soybeans!!!

Then we saw windmills in the corn and soybean fields!!!!

We try to go to mom and pop restaurants and this was no exception.  This was Aly Anne's.

We  leave Dwight and head to Marseilles.  This is where the Middle East Wall Memorial.

The Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial is located at 200 Riverfront Drive in Marseilles, Illinois. The memorial was built to honor those who have fallen from 1979-the present. The names of the soldiers that have been killed in action are etched in granite slabs immediately following Memorial Day, yearly.

As of 2014 there are about 6900 names etched on the panels. The work has been financed with private donations and volunteers provide the labor. The wall was started by members of what is now known as the Chicago-based Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run to show respect and honor those who have died in conflicts. The site chosen, donated, and agreed upon is directly next to the Illinois River.

This is limestone from the crash site on 9/11 at the Pentagon.

Back on the road again!!   Flat and more corn fields!!!!!
Then about an hour before we stopped..... look a hill!!
