August 19, 2025 - Scipio, UT to Broomfield, CO
Well, today was a much more scenic ride than yesterday. BEAUTIFUL!! Color was.... just take a look. Check out the different colors, the different formation, the different layers. Some may see just a bunch of rocks, which it is, but look a little closer. (You can click on the pic if you want to fill your whole screen with the picture)
The sky being so blue today, really enhance the pictures.
The sun peaking of the mountains.
If you look, that is our bike's shadow.
This is not something we see to often in Ohio.
We stop for a gas stop and we hear a violin. Weird. Where is it coming from? It is a young lady playing right off the road out by the Love's sign. Amazing what you see. She sounded pretty good too.
Back on the road.
This one looks like a paint by number. I assure you it is not.
Looks fake. I know.
Just around the bend is another yet another color. Or maybe lack of color. Look how white they are.
This golf course out here looks really tough. Not only narrow, but look at all the sand traps.
Ron mentioned we are now starting into the Rockies. Funny, I thought we were.
We are heading east. Check out the west bound lane. Above us.
Look at the size of the semi to get an idea how huge these mountains are.
I thought this was so cool. Can you imagine the crew to design these roads and then build them?
Going thru Eisenhower Tunnel and heading down the mountain.
After lunch, there is yet another color wanting attention. This is on one side....
....this on the other.
Check out this house. It is at the top.
Here is a close up. Kids, you cannot go out back. No grandkids at this place.
Getting into ski country. I have skied several of them. Not any more but beautiful.
Dillon Lake was beautiful.
There was a big camper that caught fire and look at the back up. Sure glad we were not on that side.
We all made the comment, how would like to be on that crew that put up the power lines up the mountain?
Pretty cool water fall.
As we leave the gorgeous mountain, this is the last pic before we get into Broomfield.
We are staying tonight with Dan and Kay. Yet another RFTW family members. Dan said, "garage is open, just pull in". And that is what we did.
Pics of Dan and Kay tomorrow.
Ron and I have a cousin north of Denver. We try to reach out to her whenever we go thru. Great to see you Brittney.
Heading to bed but before I do, Kay had this pillow on our bed. LOVE IT !!!
