Here are the first 2. They had chap stick, hand sanitizer, small tube tooth paste... you get the idea.
Then they showed us the chap stick. It says "chicken poop". It was the hit of the morning.
This is morning meeting. If you look closely, all the guys in the front have green pins that say FNG. These are the new guys. I saw the hands go up and I think they out number us.
Ready to roll. I love this site.
First stop was Vietnam Veterans Memorial. From the pic you see this is the first Vietnam Memorial. Band played National Anthem and a few other songs.
Here is what this memorial says: Vietnam Veterans Memorial
December 1967
Whither thou goest, I will go.
Group shot.... wow
Heading out to Jefferson Barracks.
If you look at the top of the hill you will see the local police leading the way. More pics of the bridges. Sorry if you are getting tired of them but I love them. I love the support, I love they are there at 8AM , I love that they cheer when we past. People still care
Look how BIG this is. You see the people underneath it and how small they look.
How long did this take to set up?

We have the highway to ourselves. Pretty nice.
We arrive at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, MO. Everyone was excited, both the residents and the riders. They are are glad we have taken the time to see them. We even had one resident stop Papa Smurf and give him $8 donation to the Run. This is probably about all the money he has. We are there to bring some smiles on their face. This act brought tears to me.
Check out this little guy. He told us that we were not allowed to have his motorcycles.
Jean with one of the patients.
This gentleman had us all in stitches. He was ready to get on the back of Jenny's trike. He was in the Army. Jenny said she likes to go fast. He said "ok", he was still ready to go. LOL
Back on the road.
Looks kind of bad, right? Well we did get rain several times in the morning but nothing hard.
This gentleman brought his daughters to show support.
We went past a nursing home. Some of our biggest cheerleaders were here.
We arrive at Waterkotte Harley Davidson in Mt. Vernon, IL for lunch: fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans.... see we get fed very well.
National Anthem, 21 gun solute and taps. I will never tired of this.
This was right out the front door of the Harley dealer. Many people stopped to read and seemed to almost pray. Pray they some day come home.
Beautiful day to be outside. Threat of rain was gone for the day and we had blue skies.
- Direct traffic: fuel stops, exit and entrance ramps, thru towns
- Block streets so no one breaks the line of the pack.
- On the road the watch for other traffic and make sure the platoons are tight
LOVE IT!!!
Look at this little guys. He was really waving as we passed. I am sure he did not know why but looked like he was having fun.
This is Chris. She is riding in the 6 pack because she will be doing Missing Man on the next leg. With so many bikes, and sometime in tight parking places, they have been moving the people up front earlier.
Here she is in Missing Man formation. She is riding for her grandfather. He served in WW II and was killed at the age of 23.
I thought I
would explain the formation:
Route Coordinator
State Coordinator
Chris Blank spot - for person we are riding for
Missing man Coordinator Head Chaplin
If you double click the pic, you will see a little better.
