October 2, 2022 - Niagara Falls, NY to Saranac Lake, NY
Today it started sunny and 51. Temp were supposed to drop through the day so everyone geared up.
We stopped at Devil’s Hole as we left Niagara Falls.
This is where Lake Erie and Lake Ontario connect. Beautiful.
Jamie is now involved with the heated gear.
Anything to keep us warm. Thanks Jamie.
Clouds came around very soon and it was quite chilly all morning.
Lots of wind. Most flags looked like this today:
Remember we saw lots of grapes yesterday? Well, today we saw apple fields.
Then we saw the Mott factory.
Fun Fact:
Where does Mott’s apple come from? Mott’s apple predominantly comes from
Gary Orbaker’s family farm. Mott’s apple juice brand is the largest purchaser
of apples in New York State. Gary Orbaker’s family farm has become the
largest supplier of Mott’s.
Sun came out and it was gorgeous. We started seeing color the
further north we went. YEAH!!!
LUNCH time. We got to Oswego, NY and I found a little place called
Maria Family Restaurant. Love to eat at the mom and pops place.
This one was great…
Here is the front of the menu:
Here is the back:
Let the fun begin.
As we walked in, and before we got seated, Jamie asked for a coffee and water.
Well the waitress said “You're not my boss!”
And the game was on. I believe Jamie met his match.
He ordered a burger and fries. Here is what he got:
Then he gets his bill and look what is on the back:
It says: PS, Big tip for putting up with your sh**
Here is our waitress. She was a hoot. We laughed the whole lunch.
Geared back up and rode through the Adirondack Region.
Great roads and colors really started showing up.
It was a great day of riding but it got colder. It was about 39 when we stopped.
Courtney: You would be proud of me. I had 6 layers on.
Tomorrow morning it is supposed to be 28…brrrrrrrrrrr.
Not sure I can get more layers on.
As long as there is no rain, we will be good.
Heated gear and heated seats are wonderful. Just ask Jackie!!!
Temps: 51-39
