May 8, 2019 - Day 3 to Ontario

It was a pretty good day today!!  Network connection is better tonight.  Hope you enjoy the pics.
Here is Ron as we get started. It was a bit cool, 58.

We went thru Sayre this morning.  If you remember this is where the tornados were from last night. There was lots of flooded areas

We also saw 2 semis over turned.  They were with in 1/2 mile of each other.
We are now in Texas. About a hour down the road we hit fog.  It was a thick as pea soup.

Fog seems to be lifting and we now see some wind mills, but still some dark clouds.
We even saw several  going up.
Yeah  BLUE SKIES!!!!  It  was gorgeous for hours.

We are now in New Mexico.  Soooo far still blue skies and in the 70s.

Wind is really strong for the next several hour.  I hope you can see this.  The trees grew up sideways.

Pic of Ron with a great background

Larry and Jean. Thanks Ron for taking this pic.

The temps start to fall.  We are heading up in elevation but still beautiful.

We were on I-40 all day and here is how it looked.  Larry's comment: "I have never seen a road so straight for so long...… so boring."  But we made good time today

Ok our luck ran out as we head into Albuquerque, NM.  We had rain all around us in a distance.

After this pic, we stopped and put on the rain gear.  Yes, we got rained on for about 45 minutes.  That was not the worst part. We are prepared for rain but not for a dramatic drop in the temperature.  Temps went from about 70-47.     Brrrrrrrrrrrrr

Made it to Grant, NM for the night.  As we sat in restaurant, it started raining pretty hard then we saw sleet.  Good call on stopping for the night.  Rain cleared and we were walking outside.  This table reminded me of the Flintstones.  LOL

Stopped in Grant, NM
Temps: 58-77-46
Route: I-40W
Total Miles: 520
