May 14, 2022 – Day 8 to Ontario
The day started out at 71 degrees and sunny. The guys looked up the address for the hotel in Ontario. Who can get it first? Great teamwork guys!!!
Heading out. Not much color but still pretty cool.
Hit California…..almost there..
Again Solar panels for acres and acres!!!
Fun Fact:
A solar farm is a collection of solar panels that converts sunlight to electricity that can be sent to customers throughout an electric grid. This is also referred to as “utility-scale” or “large-scale” solar, although some types of solar farms can be smaller as well. While a solar farm can provide energy for the owner of the installation, it is generally designed to provide as much power for the grid as possible.

Next we see cactus trees? That is what it looks like. Ron said it looks like a cactus forest. Just not dense.
This road goes FOREVER!!
Few more pics going thru the Mojave. We got really lucky today. Left early so temps thru the desert were in the low 80s.
The black line is really a train. Amazing how you can see 80+ cars in one shot.
Stopped to get gas. OUCH!!!!!! Good thing I am not filling up a car.
Sooooo what is the matter with this picture? For those of you that do not run Jet Skies, they are on backward. Maybe in California they do it differently.
Coming into Ontario. LOTS more traffic. We go from 2 lanes to 4-6 lanes. WOW there are a lot of cars. I did get a few pics of the gorgeous hills we came thru. Check out the snow.
Yeah we made it to the hotel. Temp was 95 when we got off the bike. It was a bit warm…
This year Larry and I will be Assistant Platoon Leader for platoon #5 for the Central Route. If you have time, the web site is RFTW.US. It has a lot of information. Look under Central Route to see the route and all the stops.
The next few days we will spend in Ontario. Bikes had oil changes today so we will be doing a little sightseeing tomorrow. We will be reconnecting with our Run Family and catching up since it has been 3 years. Great to reconnect!!
Destination: Ontario, CT
