May 6, 2024– Day 2 to Ontario
Forgot to mention this in yesterday's blog. Funny part of last night's stay was the toilet. I thought I was in a pre-school. It had to have been maybe 12 inches off the ground. I felt like my knees were in my chest. Not sure what someone was thinking. You just never know what you will see !! LOL
This morning, we had to gear up. Light rain in the forcast.
OH!! I forgot to introduce Jerry, Ron’s mascot. He has been on every RFTW with him.
We had to gear up Jerry too!
Heading down the road, there was lots of fog.
By the time we crossed the Missouri River, it was blue skies.
It does not last that long though.

Since day 2 out west is usually across the plains,
there is not much except farm fields, cows, and flat land.
Few pics of the plains: flat, flat, flat.
We seemed to keep dodging the rain, thank goodness and thanks for all the prayers.
When we hit the Kansas line, Larry's comment was
"how does the wind know where the state line is?"
Kind of hard to see but Ron was leaning left for what seemed like hours.
The wind never stopped. It is exhausting.
As we were heading toward Wichita, here is what the radar showed.
Reds and Yellow are not what you want to see on a bike.
We decided to stop in Hutchinson,KS for the night.
Went to dinner, the storm split and went around us. Go figure.
Here is what the sky looked like after dinner.
Pretty boring day. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for pics.
